Conceptualizing a new kind of traveling experience

Carry On is a travel and experience application offered by Alaska Airlines. It enables Alaska Airlines members to purchase bundled experience and flight packages that help enhance their vacation experiences while saving money on airfare

After we conducted our research for Carry On, we had to figure out ways to organize our data! We began by putting all the information we accumulated on sticky notes. When we saw common themes/patterns on how people were traveling, we put them on yellow sticky notes. Some of the common themes we saw were people traveled based off of budget, family/friends, general interest in the place. Once we got our information organized, we created personas, empathy maps, storyboards, and journey maps. By doing this, it allowed the team and I to get a deeper understanding of some of the pain points our users may face when using the Carry On application.
